High calibre of Awards 2009 finalists impresses FLTA
Announcing the finalists for the Fork Lift Truck Association Annual Awards for Excellence 2009, we would like to pay tribute to the high quality of products and services competing for the industry's highest accolade: the Archie.
Now in their 15th glittering year, the coveted Awards have attracted a record number of entries - all of an exceptionally high standard. This year, the Nominations Committee has shortlisted no fewer than 25 finalists as its pick of the year's best products and services.
Each has made a significant contribution to raising standards in the materials handling industry: the very aim of the FLTA Annual Awards for Excellence. Nowhere is the competition fiercer than in the four categories chosen by the public: Environment, Ergonomics, Safety and Innovation.
The Awards are a highly effective way of rewarding and encouraging those who strive for higher and higher standards in the materials handling industry. Everyone whose work involves materials handling or fork lift trucks stands to benefit from that constant improvement.
To ensure that the most deserving products and services win the Awards, it's essential that the vote should truly reflect the opinions of those who work in the industry - and for that to happen we need a good ‘voter turnout'

Get into the swing!
Winners will be announced at an entertainment-packed evening at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole hotel on Valentine's Day 2009. Romance and a touch of Hollywood glamour will be brought to the event by show-stopping entertainers.

Dressed to the nines, The Rat Pack's Back will sing and dance up a storm to some of the world's best loved songs - as made famous by Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr. It promises to be a night to remember!
A lively eight-piece band, Vice Versa, promises to keep feet dancing all night with a repertoire spanning 50 years. Finally - and back by popular demand - versatile songstress Amanda returns to treat guests to another love hour on the darkened dance floor.
With an audience of around 500, including the material's handling industry's leading figures, it will certainly be the highlight of the social - and networking - calendars.
It promises to be a night to remember!

Look out for ticket details and book early to avoid disappointment. You can book tables of ten or, if yours is a smaller group, the organisers will seat you with an appropriate mix of like-minded people.
